We built the room we wanted to play in.
It started the way these things usually start. A group of people who had played in most of
the rooms in this city, and had a complaint about every one of them.
The light was wrong. The felt was tired. The dealer was quick with the shuffle and slow with
the rules. Somebody always knew somebody, and you were never quite sure what that meant. And
when you won, you waited.
None of it was scandalous. All of it was avoidable.
So in 2025 we opened a room where none of it happens. Not because we are better people, but
because we wrote down what “run properly” means and then refused to move on any of it.
